AI Web Search vs. Regular AI Chat: When to Use Each
Choose the right mode for the question
Understand the difference between general AI conversations and live web-search research, including when to verify sources.
Two useful approaches
Normal conversational AI is well suited to explaining established ideas, brainstorming, rewriting, and helping you think through a process. Live web search is valuable when an answer depends on events, prices, regulations, availability, or publications that change.
When search makes the difference
A request such as “Explain how solar panels work” usually needs no live search. “What incentives are currently available for solar installation in my state?” benefits from searching recent official sources. That distinction saves unnecessary searching and makes results easier to verify.
Read beyond the summary
Search results can contain outdated posts, persuasive marketing, or incorrect claims. Follow the original link, check its date, identify its author, and compare independent sources. A citation supports verification; it is not an automatic guarantee of accuracy.
Using VALORA
AskVALORA provides a separate web-search option. Enable it when you need current information, then review citations before acting on any high-stakes recommendation.
